A new mark of ecological quality is being introduced in Germany
London, 18 February (NNA) - A new mark of ecological quality is being introduced in Germany. According to the journal “Das Goetheanum”, the Ecological Agriculture Association (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Ökologischer Landbau - AGÖL) and the Central Marketing Agency of German Agriculture (Centrale Marketing-Agentur der deutschen Agrarwirtschaft - CMA) have jointly established a company, Öko-Prüfzeichen GmbH, which will be the legal sponsoring agency for the new mark. The mark will be awarded in accordance with guidelines laid down by AGÖL and the German Association of Producers of Natural Foods and Products (Bundesverband Naturkost Naturwaren-Hersteller). The new mark has been introduced with the aim of increasing sales of ecological products by giving them a higher profile, including in supermarkets.
