Funding appeal for Waldorf course in India / Spendenappell für Waldorferziehungsseminar in Indien

By Christian von Arnim

Mumbai, 16 December (NNA) - The All-India Waldorf (Rudolf Steiner) Education Seminar, which was held in Khandala near Mumbai in May 1999, has appealed for further funding for the next course to be held May 2000.

The three-week seminar attracts participants from all over India and Nepal.

Part of the course will once again be taught by Chris Bennett, an experienced class and upper school teacher from Perry Court School near Canterbury, UK, who is also a tutor at the London Waldorf Teacher Training Seminar.

Aban Bana, organiser of the seminar, said in the appeal: “Chris Bennett will be returning to teach part of the course and we are once again hoping to raise funds to cover expenses for him and other visiting teachers.

”I therefore request you to consider supporting this very important venture in India," Ms Bana added.

Chris Bennett was also involved in last May's course, which was attended by between 30 and 40 participants.

New anthroposophical information directories

by Christian von Arnim

/ Neue anthroposophische Informationsverzeichnisse

Frankfurt/Main, 16 December (NNA) - Anyone looking for contact information about anthroposophical institutions has had their job made easier by new editions of two German directories listing contact information for anthroposophical institutions and facilities running training and study courses.

The directory of addresses, “Adressverzeichnis Anthroposophie 1999/2000”, published by Info3 Verlag and Verlag am Goetheanum, not only lists addresses and contact information for institutions in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland by town, but also has a separate international section which includes countries ranging from Argentina to Romania. with quite a few others in between.

The geographical listing is supplemented by useful alphabetical and subject indexes, making it easy to find the required information.

As an innovation, the “Adressverzeichnis Anthroposophie” also includes an easily navigable CD-Rom published by Udeis Verlag, called “Spektrum Anthroposophie”, which contains, among other things, contributions on various fields of anthroposophical activity, discussion of current issues such as unemployment and bioethics and articles by 250 institutions on their work.

The CD-Rom also has on it the “Adressverzeichnis” and a literature search facility for Rudolf Steiner's complete works. There are also anthroposophical Internet and email links which can be started directly from the CD-Rom.

The directory of anthroposophical training and courses, “Ausbildungsverzeichnis Anthoposophie 1999/2000”, also published by Info3 Verlag / Verlag am Goetheanum, lists institutions worldwide providing training and courses on an anthroposophical basis. Apart from the contact details themselves, listed by subject, the directory also gives a brief outline of the course content for each institution, thus providing invaluable information both for those just browsing to find out what is available and those looking for specific information.
