Second global conference on anthroposophy

By Christian von Arnim

/ Zweite global Konferenz über Anthroposophie und ihre Stellung in der Welt

Gothenburg, 21 December (NNA) - The second in a series of major global conferences looking at the place of Anthroposophy in today's world in the context of the millennium shift will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 28 December 1999 to 3 January 2000.

Building on the “varied spiritual and social experiences of participants” working throughout the world on the basis of anthroposophy, the conference intends, among other things, to explore the relationship between the anthroposophical centre and its periphery and how this relationship can be renewed to be able to meet the global challenges of our times.

In its two strands, the conference aims on the one hand to explore ways of rediscovering the original spiritual sources of anthroposophy while on the other hand attempting to link these esoteric endeavours with external social tasks.

The first conference was held in the Philippines in 1998 and discussed “Shaping the Future: Elite Globalisation, Anthroposophy and the Threefold Social Order.”
